When viewing multiple display sets in several image boxes at one time, you can explode a particular image box to a 1x1 layout and back again very easily by using the Survey/Explode tool.

Here, four display sets are being reviewed at once, some are even tiled:

To explode a particular image box to a 1x1 layout, simply click the Survey/Explode button on the toolbar, or use the keyboard shortcut, "X". Here, we explode the third image box:

As with exploding tiles, you can review images and even change the display set before "unexploding". This is shown below, where the image box has been unexploded, but it now contains a different display set.

Note that you can use the exploding tiles and exploding image boxes features together. For example, above, the second display set is tiled 2x2. Double-clicking it will unexplode the tiles to 1x1. You can then explode the image box, like so:

And a subsequent double-click will again unexplode the image box. Now, here's the neat part: even though you've exploded the image box with the tiles 1x1, once unexploded, the viewer remembers that the image box was previously tiled 2x2 and another double-click will restore that tile layout! Now, you can again explode the image box with its tiles laid out 2x2:

And a subsequent double-click will once again unexplode the image box:

Notice how explosion of the image box always takes precedence over explosion of the tiles. This is because, if you exploded an image box that was tiled, and a double-click then exploded and unexploded the tiles, you would not be able to unexplode the image box with a double-click; you would only be able to do it via the toolbar button, which would lead to an inconsistent user experience.
