The clipboard is a handy place to set aside images of interest. Once images are in the clipboard, you can do things such as export them to a different image format or create a video. The presentation state of images captured in the clipboard is pretty much exactly the same as it was at the time of capture from the viewer. This includes annotations, window/level, overlay visibility, etc. So, when you export an image from the clipboard, it should appear exactly the same as it did in the viewer.

Important Note

In previous versions of the Workstation, the text overlay was unconditionally turned off to avoid exporting patient information. As mentioned above, this is no longer the case, and the visibility of the text overlay in exported images is the same as it was at the time of capture from the viewer. You can determine whether or not the text overlay is on or off for an individual item in the clipboard by hovering over it with the mouse and inspecting the values in the tooltip.

To show the clipboard, simply click on the Show Clipboard button on the toolbar.

As for copying images to the clipboard, there are a number of ways to do this:

Copy Single Image

To copy a single image to the clipboard:

1.	Right click on the image you want to copy.

2.	In the context menu, select Clipboard > Copy Image to Clipboard.

3.	Note that the presentation state of the image is captured on the clipboard (Zoom, Window/Level, measurements, ROIs, etc.).

Copy Display Set

To copy an entire display set to the clipboard:

1.	Right click on the display set you want to copy.

2.	In the context menu, select Clipboard > Copy Display Set to Clipboard.

Copy Range of Images

To copy a range or subset of images within a display set:

1.	Right click on the display set of interest.

2.	In the context menu, select Clipboard > Copy Range of Images to Clipboard.

3.	Fill out the dialog box that appears:

A few notes about this:

•	Most of the time, Image Number and Position are the same. However, there are times when they're not. For example, some older scanners will generate images with numbers like 1000, 2000, 3000, etc.

•	If you select Custom, you can enter custom ranges, like these:

Custom Range	Meaning
1,4,7,11	Select images 1,4,7 and 11
1,3-6, 9, 11-13	Select image 1, images 3 to 6, image 9 and images 11 to 13
-7,9,18-	Select image 1-7, image 9 and images 18 to the end
