Show/Hide Hidden Text

You can markup images with text in two different ways: by adding simple text or a call out (arrow with text).

Adding Simple Text

To add simple text to an image:

1.Select the Add Text Area tool from the toolbar.
2.In the image, click approximately where you would like to place the text. A text edit box will appear.
3.Enter some text. To add multi-line text, simply press Ctrl-Enter to go to the next line.
4.To finish, hit Enter or click anywhere else in the image.
5.To edit the text, simply double-click on the text, or right-click on it and choose Edit.
6.To delete the text, right-click and choose Delete.
7.To delete all annotations, including measurements and text, right-click on the item itself or on the image and select Delete All Annotations.

Adding Text Callouts

To add a text callout, which is a simple arrow with text at one end:

1.Select the Add Text Callout tool from the toolbar.
2.In the image, click approximately where you would like to place the arrow head.
3.Without holding the mouse button down, move the mouse to where you want the text to appear and click.
4.Enter some text. To add multi-line text, simply press Ctrl-Enter to go to the next line.
5.To finish, hit Enter or click anywhere else in the image.
6.If you just want an arrow with no text, simply skip step 4 by hitting Enter or clicking away from the text edit box without entering anything.
7.To edit the text, simply double-click on the text, or right-click on it and choose Edit. Note that you must do this on the text, and not any other part of the callout.
8.To delete the text, right-click and choose Delete.
9.To delete all annotations, including measurements and text, right-click on the item itself or on the image and select Delete All Annotations.

Saving Text Annotations

If you would like to save all the text annotations on the image, you can use the Create Key Image tool which will save the presentation state of the image along with any measurements and text annotations you have made on the image. For a more detailed discussion on this feature, please see the section on Key Images.
